THE LATE SYLVIA COOPER
There are not sufficient pages on the website to even BEGIN to do justice to Sylvia, but I have thought of a way to do it the best way I can. In this connection, I would ask that you read, first the page headed, ’List of Beneficiaries’ and having done so, please return to this for the rest of the little tribute to her. They need to be read in conjunction with each other.
I will paraphrase, to a degree, the words of the son of Sir Christopher Wren, the architect of St. Paul’s Cathedral, when asked to assemble his father’s epitaph. He said, “If you seek his Monument, look around you”
I say, If you seek SYLVIA’S monument, think of ANY of those organisations on that list and remember that without Sylvia, between them, they would have been £30,000 worse off.
And on a personal note, let me say that I should not have held the right to apply the initials MBE to my surname! They REALLY belong to HER!
She is quite QUITE irreplaceable. So there’s no point looking.
